Our First Book!

"Gardens and wild places have long been recognized for their ability to
influence the human psyche. Gardeners and non-gardeners alike will enjoy
the authors' own story as they set out to create a public place where
people come to visit, sit, relax and experience the peace and joy found in
nature.  The authors chronicle their own path, seeking to live lives of
peace and balance and to make a living at doing something they love.
Judy and Michel spoke with a Nobel Prize nominee, an internationally
renowned expert in sacred landscape and scores of ordinary gardeners
in an effort to define the nature of peace and sanctuary. Along the
way, they met ordinary people who share their own stories, and how
the simple act of gardening changes lives and individuals.  You do not
have to be a gardener to enjoy this book!" (Sacred Gardens').

The Tea Room

farm, true visit, annual garden 0491.jpg

Well, it's almost spring, although some days it still looks and feels like January. If it's not feeling like planting weather, you can still get a jump (at least, emotionally) on the season in our greenhouses. Come on out for a breath of moist humid air and get a peek at the new treasures we're growing for this season. You can stay warm in the tea room with a cup of tea, scone and good conversation. Judy is
usually here to help people with their handmade beauty recipes, sharing
recipes with ingredients like lush avocado, coffee, olive butters, honey
and buttermilk powders, and new finds in her never ending quest for the
perfect anti-wrinkle cream! Come out, while away an afternoon with a
good friend or a good book or visit with us.

Use them for anything including our treasured Buckwheat Hull Mulch.

Seven Arrows Bookstore and Garden Marketplace

Small mom and pop nurseries like Seven Arrows often can't supply
everything we'd like to – interesting tropical plants like coffee plants
and Vanilla Bean Orchid, gardening tools, excellent compost bins
and the like.  We're just too small and larger nurseries
(even Home Depot) can easily do so at a much better price.
So….like many small businesses and non-profits we've selected things
we would sell if we could afford to and contracted with Amazon.com to
do so.  We get 4% of each sale (no extra cost to you) which we use to
support several animal rescue projects and our botanical sanctuary
project which helps us continue to plant important endangered
New England native plants, (plants losing ground to over-development)
both here and in other locations.

Backyard Sustainability
Victory Gardens Revisited 2008

During times of greater economic challenges, it makes more
sense than ever to grow as much of one's own food as possible,
not to mention the satisfaction and comfort of knowing where
your food comes from.  To encourage this effort Seven Arrows
will be offering a sort of readymade backyard garden.  We will
provide a ready made raised bed frame, fill it with organic compost
and loam and offer a variety of both heirloom and standard
vegetables and culinary and/or medicinal herbs to choose from.
Gardeners may do as much or as little of the preparation and
planting work as they care to.  A free canning and food
preservation workshop will be offered during the growing season.
A 20 x 20 square foot area generally feeds a family of four, and a
0x10 square foot space yields sufficient quantities for a one or two
person household. Enjoy your own ORGANIC harvest all season.
